Vintage Retro Hard To Find RepCo BT-3 Breath-Alcohol Tester 1970’s - 80’sI
recently purchased this RepCo BT-2 Breath-Alcohol from a local Raleigh NC industrial surplus
distributor
that was liquidating much of their excess inventories.
Your friends should be duly impressed when you whip out your own personal vintage breath tester and threaten to keep their car keys if they party too much. It’s a great prop for your man cave or home sports bar. These vintage Breath Testers are really getting hard to find especially in this nice condition.
I am not sure of the exact age of this device but there is a Zip Code on the paperwork so it is from at least the mid 1970’s or thereabouts although I believe the construction style makes it look even a little older.
It comes in its original box and includes both its instruction manual and calibration procedure sheet. It also has its original charger / power supply.
It comes with 2 mouth pieces one of which is still sealed in its original plastic packaging.
The mouth pieces are stamped “GUTH ULTRAP” on one side and “PATENT 4292978 D272559”
The overall physical condition is real nice showing only very minimal signs of use or age. It does not look like I was very often used.
There is a little battery corrosion build up on the rivet terminals of the battery box. It doesn’t look too bad and because the battery holder is removable I would guess a little baking soda might do the trick.
Information on the battery cover indicates that either AA alkaline batteries or rechargeable Ni-Cad batteries can be used but I am not sure what, if any, safety measures are built in to prevent attempting to charge the alkaline batteries so please use caution because attempting to charge alkaline batteries can be very dangerous.
Please Notr that i a few of the group images it shows as a BT-2 but the
last
image
shows the correct box label from the box you will receive.
I have provided images that should also be considered part of my description.
I have not tested this in any way and I am offering it up for sale based only on its collectable value. Please take this into consideration before placing a bid.
I am selling this item as I sell all of my items…
AS IS and I DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS.
If you need an item that has a warranty or offers return privileges you may want to check out some of the other sellers to see if they offer this type of product with return privileges but you may have to pay a higher price.
Due to the ever changing, almost impossible to calculate, shipping charges of the US Post Office along with the Insane Customs Forms I am only able to ship to the lower 48 states.
NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS PLEASE
I think I have covered everything but please let me know if you need any further information. We love to answer question.
