THIS IS ORIGINAL FACTORY PART MADE BY NISSAN.
PLEASE BEWARE OF FAKE AFTERMARKET PART WITHOUT NISSAN SILVER LABEL ON DIPSTICK!!!
The Transmission Fluid over time and under constant heat can change the density and some ingredients can brakes down and evaporates .This will cause the lowering transmission fluid level .Especially when car being used under high rpm to much in short period of time.
Keeping transmission fluid fresh and in proper level is essential to have a long lasting transmission in your car.Especially for CVT.Checking the quality and the level of the fluid ones a month can save you a lots of time, stress and money.I am changing my CVT fluid every 20K miles to keep it cool and happy.!
If your car age over 2 years old, than probably transmission fluid quality not the best anymore and level is already to low and how much,depends on the mileage and driving conditions.You need to check the fluid....
But if you got some newer Nissan models there is a little confusing issue......
There is no Dipstick for CVT when you purchase new car and it's not serviceable out of Dealership ( where you usually see the rip-off procedures with overcharging for fluid and service) and when cars may be just barely passed out of 75k miles factory warranty limit ,some drivers begin to notice CVT noise and vibration..
Selling new CVTs to replace the broken one is very profitable business for Dealerships but money-painful for cars owners .
But you can do something about that.
And this dipstick can help you in this process.

This dipstick for checking fluid levels only.Not recommended to drive with this dipstick in tube because CVT fluid is corrosive (Corrosion and rust on the stick due to CVT fluid aggressive vapor has been reported).
After checking the fluid level, please reinstall the original plastic plug.
Note..
Some stickers on dipsticks have minor scratches and can look a little different from one on the picture.
This dipstick is approximately 16" inch long without handle (dipstick charging pipe length )
FOR Sentras WITH 1.8 AND 1.6 L ENGINES THE DIPSTICK LENGTH IS 10" and for 2.5 L length is 20".

WHY YOUR CAR CAME WITHOUT DIPSTICK?
The dipstick gets rusted and stuck in pipe and as a result,very difficult to remove. This dipstick must be for checking fluid levels only.Not recommended to drive with this dipstick in tube because CVT fluid is corrosive (Corrosion and rust on the stick due to CVT fluid aggressive vapor has been reported).
After checking the fluid level, please reinstall the original plastic plug without still rod.

If you think you overfill the fluid and want to remove some fluid out of CVT, there is overfill round plug with hex hole on shaft side.(Driver wheel side ,see the picture of overfill plug with dipstick shows the fluid level.).

The item is used and sticker can have minor signs of wear .

2005-2013 Nissans use CVT fluid is NS-2 for CVT2 and CVT3 . 2014 and up models use CVT fluid NS-3 (same as NS-2 but with new additives ) for CVT7
