19th Century Actress MARY F. SCOTT-SIDDONS Autograph

MARY F. SCOTT-SIDDONS
(1844-1896) She was born in India and made her professional debut
as Lady MAcBeth in Nottingham before appearing in London in 1867 as
Rosalind in "As You Like It". She then made her American debut in
Boston and then played Rosalind in New York City. Scott-Siddons,
who appeared in six Broadway plays (from "Twelfth Night" in 1869 to
'Twixt Axe and Crown" in 1870), joined Austin Daly's company in
New York in 1869. Bold ink signature on a small card,
mounting traces on back, fine.
